VACANCY: POLICY AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (MATERNITY LEAVE COVER)

The Irish Family Planning Association (IFPA) is Ireland?s leading
sexual health provider. We provide a wide range of services at our
medical clinics and nationwide counselling centres, including
specialist pregnancy counselling, abortion care, sexual and
reproductive health services, and education and training.

reproductive autonomy and bodily integrity.
An opportunity has arisen for a suitable candidate to join the
IFPA?s Advocacy and Communications Team as Policy and Development
Officer, to cover a maternity leave absence.
The Policy and Development Officer will support the IFPA?s advocacy
on sexual and reproductive health and rights.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE SUPPORTING THE IFPA?S:
* Engagement with the wider community of abortion care providers
* Secretariat to the All Party Oireachtas Interest Group on SRHR
(APG)
* Policy work on abortion and contraception
* Sexual and reproductive health initiatives for asylum-seeking and
refugee women
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE:
* A university degree in social sciences, health or other relevant
field
* At least 3 years relevant employment experience
* Knowledge, understanding and commitment to sexual and reproductive
health and rights and policy implementation in Ireland
* Experience/understanding of reproductive and sexual healthcare in
Ireland
* Excellent spoken and written English
* Ability to express ideas and concepts clearly and concisely to
diverse audiences
* Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage a diverse range of
tasks
